The group of sixty-five members paints at local sites and takes field trips to the mountains and the coast. Chella, founder of VCS, has been Artist-in-Residence in Yosemite National Park, and other members have exhibited in the Yosemite Renaissance Art Exhibitions and Cal Expo. VCS has sponsored on-location workshops and nine annual plein air group shows.
