Milani will discuss Buccellati's history, craftsmanship, signature style and their one-of-a-kind museum quality objects. Buccellati is a presenting sponsor of Bouquets to Art 2010.  ArtPoint Event at 111 Minna on 4/29Calling all game changers, boundary breakers, iconoclasts and troublemakers! You're invited to an ArtPoint event at 111 Minna on April 29. Don't miss this evening celebrating ideas and artists who push society forward. Despite what you might think, the revered artists who painted Impressionist works were actually the absinthe-swilling bad boy rebels of Paris. Join us for a discussion on how these imaginatively disruptive artists and technologies, pariahs of their day, redefined the world. The de Young Museum Collaborates with Camp GalileoChildren in pre-K–5th grades can experience the de Young's art education every day during the summer by attending Camp Galileo. Voted "Best Camp for Kids" in Bay Area Parent and the San Francisco Bay Guardian, Camp Galileo is a summer day camp where kids enjoy art, science and outdoor programming every day. The de Young collaborates with Camp Galileo on its art program by advising on curriculum development and providing its collection and resources as inspiration for art activities. National Arts Advocacy Events in Washington, DC on April 12 and 13 This year marks the 23rd anniversary of national Arts Advocacy Day in Washington, DC, when prominent arts advocates speak to Congress about the value of the arts and creativity in the U.S. Americans for the Arts sponsors the events on April 13, when actors Jeff Daniels and Kyle MacLachlan will be part of the Congressional Arts Kick Off on Capitol Hill. A major arts policy speech, the Nancy Hanks Lecture, also takes place on April 12 at the Kennedy Center. This year's speaker is Joseph P. Riley, Jr., Mayor of Charleston, South Carolina and founder of the Mayors' Institute on City Design. California Arts Council to Meet in Los Angeles The California Arts Council will meet on Monday, April 19, 2010, at The Museum of Contemporary Art, 250 South Grand Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90012. The meeting will begin at 9:00 a.m. and end at approximately 4:00 p.m. The public is invited to attend and address the Council during the public comment period at approximately 3:40 p.m. Public testimony will be time-limited.
