Participate in the Taste of Turlock 2010, for May 1st

Hello Everyone,

Turlock Downtown is planning an admission free community event, Taste of Turlock 2010, for May 1st from 11am-5pm. This year will have a multicultural theme. The participating downtown restaurants and food related vendors from the Turlock area will continue to offer food & drink tastings to attendees purchasing a wrist band.

With this year’s multicultural theme, distinct blocks of cultures will present each one’s food, entertainment, activities, fashions, information and more on a closed off Main Street (and some side streets). All vendors may choose to sell related items. This multicultural theme, along with the continued community demand for free events and the previous success of Taste of Turlock, should bring out thousands of Turlockers and visitors.

There is a Taste of Turlock committee comprised of Trina Walley (Turlock Downtown), DJ Fransen (TurlockCityNews.com), Rob Geiger (Turlock Historical Society), Mary Sherwood (Assyrian American Civic Club), Claudia Gonzalez (Sigma Omega Phi, Epsilon Chapter), Pauline Telya (CSUS Student Affairs), Kristen Santos, Nellie Lazar, Steven Nascimento, Angela Moreno, Michelle Adams, Jill Chiesa, Krystal Villapudua, Anthony Martinez, Mohini Rabine, and other interested parties continuing to join.

Thus far, interest to participate has been shown by high school clubs, CSUS clubs, cultural organizations, businesses, entertainment groups, and people in relation to cultures including: American, Historical (Turlock), Agricultural, Middle Eastern, Portuguese, Hispanic, Indian, Scandinavian, Asian, Italian, Irish, Greek, Counter Culture, and more.

I am asking for local business & cultural participation in supporting what will basically represent Turlock’s diversity and unity!

Contact DJ for vendor and sponsor forms that explain the different ways businesses, groups, and individuals can participate. Volunteers for promotion, preparation, and the day of event set up & children’s activities would of course be greatly appreciated.

If you would like to help out with this event in any way, have questions, or would like more information, please contact me.

Sincerely,
David (DJ) Fransen
